Here’s why experience shouldn’t be everything when you’re recruiting new team members

With the possibility of more COVID-19 restrictions looming over the hospitality industry, it’s hard to feel optimistic about the months ahead.

However, over the past few weeks we’ve also read some incredibly hopeful stories about the post-COVID resurgence of the hospitality industry, and how the hospitality sector could offer an invaluable lifeline to people who have recently been made unemployed. So, here’s our question: when you’re searching for a new person to join your hospitality team, what’s the most important quality you look for?

Many employers will say ‘previous experience’, and at Prime Agency Recruitment we’ve got a database crammed with candidates who have all the previous experience you need and more. But, considering that so many high-quality people with no previous hospitality industry experience are starting to look for work within the sector, could you be losing out by not considering them?

Of course, previous experience is always helpful, but all of us had to start somewhere.
